Happy Easter! And isn’t it nice with the warmer weather we’re starting to have?

Tomorrow, Easter Saturday, we have a fantastic selection of producers for you at Haslemere. Come along and stock up with delicious produce for your Easter table.

We’re introducing Plot34Achillis this month, producers of award winning artisan hot sauces and chilli products. See more below.

Chairmans Note

Hello spring! 

Greetings from the lambing shed. We officially welcome the month of tulips, showers and everything Easter!

April brings you three fabulous markets each with its own charm, producers and the best of local and seasonal produce. We love chatting recipes with our regular customers and have certainly been eating well this month with produce from the farm and our friends from the markets.

Don’t forget if you’re particularly proud of something you’ve cooked, please share photographs with us on our social media platforms, or indeed, if you’ve got a particular go to recipe you’re fond of, share it with us!

April marks an exceptionally busy month for us on the farm with the bulk of the lambing taking place. Our flock effectively doubles in very little time. In addition, our general sheep tasks pick up as well as we have to be mindful of managing the risks to the flock until shearing takes place at the end of May.

In general, the sheep continue to be kind by concentrating lambing between 05:00 and 08:00 with a mid-morning spike and the odd afternoon or nocturnal offering. As much as we enjoy them being at home, it’s an absolute pleasure to get them back out to good green grass with their lambs at foot.

The goats have also joined the excitement with the April kidding in full swing, supported by the odd litter of pigs. It’s a full-on maternity unit!

Plot34Achillis

Steve from Plot34Achillis bought his award winning artisan hot sauces and chilli products to Milford market for the first time last month. You loved them so much, he’s back at Milford again in April.

Steve’s love of chillies started aged 10 with one fiery bite — and he’s been hooked ever since. What began as recreating a favourite Bajan hot sauce for friends and neighbours quickly grew into a proper small-batch chilli sauce business, with word spreading through locals and regulars at his local pub.

Steve grows an impressive range of chilli varieties, including some seriously hot ones — Ghost, Scorpion, and Carolina Reapers — alongside rarer finds like Hurtberrys, Chocolate Apocalypse, and Burmese Nagas. He’s constantly developing new flavours, so there’s always something new to try on the stall.
