March Farmers’ Markets, stock up for Mother’s Day

Spring is here, and hasn’t it been wonderful having the sun back out for the last few days? Have you remembered it’s Mother’s Day on Sunday, March 15th? We have a bumper collection of producers at Haslemere this coming Saturday, so why not come down and find that truly special gift for mum?

Chairmans Note

Hello spring! 

In increasingly unsettled times, we need to be thankful for the small wins, the beauty of the British seasons being one of them. This morning I was greeted with a beautiful dawn chorus while I did the first lamb check, swathes of daffodils and a fantastic sunrise.

Tonight while I do the last lamb check I’m stepping over toads as they make their way to their breeding pond. All I can hear is croaking (and lambs in the background), it seemed like winter would never end.

All is calm in the lambing barn and the first time mothers have done an exceptional job with only one of them needing any help at all. In one end of the barn we have four generations currently huddled together, lambs and moms taking a well-deserved break. 

Mother’s Day is nearly upon us. For early gift ideas or dinner solutions, pop in to see us at Haslemere where we are at full capacity of stalls on the High Street, I’m certainly going to be doing a bit of shopping. Keep in touch with our producers online through social media to see what they might have on offer.

On Mother’s Day itself, we have Milford and Southsea markets, where you can come and get something for dinner or a last minute gift. Come and see what our producers have to offer with all of your firm favorites and also some transitions over to warmer months menus. We are certainly going to be getting ready for the Barbeque season and outside dining inspiration.
