May Farmers’ Markets, Visit this Bank Holiday
Hasn’t the weather been glorious recently? And in true British fashion, rain looks to be coming in for this bank holiday weekend. The good news is that it’s not scheduled to start until Saturday afternoon, so plenty of time to get down to Haslemere market, where we have a wonderful selection of stall holders for you to enjoy.
Both Milford and Southsea are on Sunday, 17th May, and we’re pleased to see Southsea starting to grow again. We look forward to seeing you at our stalls.

Chairmans Note
As we turn our back on the month that historically gave us showers, we welcome the month that guarantees us bank holidays! This hopefully means more downtime and the opportunity to spend it with our families. What better way to celebrate than with something from our markets. Whether it’s a treat, an ingredient, a dessert or a quick snack be sure to visit us and find what you’re looking for.
It’s always a pleasure shopping from other producers and we have eaten well over the past month. Gravalax from Butler Country Estates on Råg bread will always be a winner. Sausage Roll Kitchen fills our packed lunch boxes and we found out that Nonna’s Bruschetta mix is the perfect relish for our own burgers.
With the good weather sausages have been popular and we have been working on perfecting our Mrs B’s Honey and Mustard offering. We have sweet treats in abundance and this week I experienced the best Key lime pie I have had outside of Florida thanks to Sylvias Patisserie.
Our Southsea market retains a loyal following and we are pleased to see growth in producers, welcoming Wildcroft with a range of meats and dairy products. In July we are hosting a SWS Farmer’s Market at the food festival here, details to follow…
May signals that the end is in sight with our lambing. Only three of the ladies are not on board with this, however we look on track to finish over the next week, just in time for the goats to start kidding!
Our best news comes from the emus who have hatched nine striped velociraptors who are eating us out of house and home. Thankfully Frensham Market Garden will be back with us soon and should provide everything for a young emu appetite!
Have a great month and we look forward to welcoming you at one of our markets.
