November Farmers’ Markets, Order Early for Christmas
Welcome to November! Autumn is putting on its final show, the evenings are drawing in, and it’s the perfect time to stock up on hearty, seasonal produce for warming winter meals.
Thinking about Christmas? If there’s something special you’d like for the festive table, please speak to your favourite producers at this month’s markets and reserve it in advance. A quick chat now will save disappointment later.
Please note there is no SWSFM market in Haslemere in December. Instead, many of our traders will be joining the Haslemere Christmas Market on Sunday 6th December, 10am to 4pm, across the town centre. Milford and Southsea will both be open as usual on Sunday 20th December.
As always, thank you for your continued support of our producers. We look forward to seeing you at one of our November markets.

Chairman’s Note
It’s hard to believe we’ve reached the last month of autumn already. As I drive out to do the sheep every day, I marvel at the spectacular colours and scenery, and I love our seasonal changes.
We have now entered the head torch era. We can’t get round the farm in daylight hours, so we rely on our trusty head torches to get everything done. We have welcomed some grass growth, which is very much needed. However, it is too little, too late, and we will most certainly be relying on hay to see us through the winter. Hay stocks are almost non-existent, so we are trying to source some at the moment.
November is quite a busy month on the farm, with the main bulk of our rams going in with the ewes for April lambing. We’re busy moving the sheep and pigs to their winter areas, and all of the animals we lend to farm parks for the summer season are returning home. In the kitchen, the slow cooker is working overtime, so after a busy day outside you come back in to amazing smells and something very tasty.
Our producers are working very hard to keep up with demand for your staples and seasonal favourites, so pop along to Haslemere, Milford and Southsea and see what we have on offer. We are all starting to think about Christmas already, so please talk to your favourite stalls if there’s anything in particular you need to order in advance, to avoid disappointment.
Enjoy the month, and happy eating!
