Butler Country Estates makes delicious smoked trout pate, fillets an whole fish in the historic city of Winchester, in the heart of Hampshire.
Our smokery lies within a few minutes of the River Test, Itchen and Meon which are some of the finest nutrient-rich, chalk streams in the world.
We use rainbow trout raised in Hampshire’s gin-clear crystal waters for our smoked trout pate, whole fish and fillets. Being so close to our smokery ensures a freshness which is exquisitely reflected in the taste of our pates and fillets. So much so that in 2020, we were awarded a Great Taste Star by The Guild of Fine Food, followed up with Two Stars in 2022.
Every week we sell our delicious smoked trout at farmers’ markets and special events in Hampshire, Surrey and Sussex. If you’ve never tried our smoked trout pate before, we usually have free tasters with us. So pop on over, say hello and try our wonderful smoked trout for yourself. We sell our artisan products direct customers at the many farmers’ markets and via a growing list dedicated commercial partners. Bakeries, butchers, caterers and village shops who share our values of not only making the best food and drink they can but doing so by using ingredients local to them while adding value to the communities they serve.
